Canal Holidays Guide to the London Circuit

Map & Info
Our London base 53 in the Hertfordshire countryside is situated on the River Lee within easy reach of the M25. From here cruise 25 miles of attractive river to Waltham Abbey, Hertford and Ware, or up the Stort river to Sawbridgeworth and Bishop's Stortford.

Cruising south to Limehouse Basin near Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, you can go west along the canal through the City to Camden Market, past London Zoo and Regents Park to Little Venice in the heart of London. Visit Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, see a show and all the sights.

From Limehouse you could take the Docklands Light Railway past Canary Wharf to the terminus. Then walk under the River Thames to Greenwich, the Millennium Dome, and the Cutty Sark. If the tides are suitable, and with permission from the boatyard, you can join the River Thames at Limehouse and cruise up river past Westminster and under the bridges to the canal at Brentford. From there it is four hours cruising to Little Venice. Continue along the canal to Limehouse, and north to the base.
